EVA KLEINITZ AWARD AT THE CLIP COMPETITION
Melissa was recently awarded the Eva Kleinitz Award at the 2021 Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino vocal competition. The award is in memory of & financed by the estate of the late Eva Kleinitz, who was a German stage director and the director of the Opéra National du Rhin until her passing in 2019. The jury comprised of Dominique Meyer (president of the jury), Gianni Tangucci, Carolin Wielpütz, Sophie de Lint, Christina Scheppelmann, Claudio Orazi & Peter de Caluwe.
Melissa joins the ensemble of the Saarländisches Staatstheater in the 2021/2022 season, where she will make a number of role debuts including Ruggiero in Händel's "Alcina", Mercédès in Bizet's "Carmen" & Dryade in Strauss's "Ariadne auf Naxos".

Melissa was recently named the 2nd place winner of The American Prize in the Opera division. The American Prize National Nonprofit Competitions in the Performing Arts is the nation's most comprehensive series of contests in the classical arts.
